Right. Or Left.

Had a terrible time getting to sleep last night. Not sure what the deal was. But I think it was nearly 0300 when I finally fell out. Dunno what that’s about. Woke up 0700-ish. Slept well. Once I got there. I feel okay. Could just be the coffee talkin’.

And tonight again. after frickin’ 130 AM and I am wide awake. I’m thinking the only thing I’ve changed was the re-introduction of coffee into my life. Perhaps I need to cut back on that a bit. Lost my coffee tolerance!

I just laid in bed reading for the last hour or so. I was tired when I went to bed. I even took a nice hot shower. Soooooooo…

WTF brain?!

I have to admit, my car situation has me a little concerned. I feel I’m rapidly approaching a tipping point where I am going to have to do something. Ain’t there yet, but iI’m getting close. I certainly will not make a bit on the car if I sell it, 1998 Saturn base models are just not in high demand. *grins*

Even in great shape they do not command big money. HAHA! Didn’t command big money when I got the dang thing new either. Heh. I’ve certainly got the money’s worth out of it though. That little car and I have been through a lot together. For a while it seemed to be an extension of me.

No AC without a big cash outlay, just so it will work for another year?
Seems to be using oil now. It doesn’t look to be leaking.
It gets hot. I mean engine wise. (Well in the other way too) Been sitting in traffic just watching the temperature gauge run into the higher temps.
And I do not know If I can get it to pass inspection. Got emissions issues (that damned ‘Check Engine’ light) I think as well as a mechanical thingie or two. It is just old. Like I said before, it is an extension of me.

I may see what I can get for a trade in. Just for giggles. It won’t be much, but it will be some one else’s car to deal with.

Going to have to buy a used car. Started a sort of a search. Looking (online) at used MINI’s. Wanted one for a while now. Some certainly seem to hold their value well.

Looking for a low mileage (relatively speaking) model not more than 4-5 years old. Some interesting looking vehicles. And not unreasonableIy priced. Looked at these things till my head hurt. Don’t think I can get a loan (I’m unemployed) so I’ll have to pull cash from somewheres. That’s a bit screwed, but I think I can manage it.

It could be the coffee, if you drink it late. Me, I drink coffee all day long and sometimes I find I have to drink some before I go to bed. The thing I can't tolerate anymore is caffeinated soft drinks. If I drink one of those within 6 hours of going to bed, I can't sleep at all.

You'd get the better deal on a trade-in, value-wise. There is really no secondary market that will make you a decent amount of money - unless you find a dummy. And, also, selling that old of a car to someone might be an issue when they come back and yell at you for selling them a broken piece of junk. Funny, but they could drive the car with no problems for six months and they'll still bitch and moan when it finally breaks down. *laughs*

We owned a 2003 Mini (regular not S) - the early years had problems with the wiring harness melting and catching on fire. It happened to us. Thank goodness the car was parked in a lot on the top floor and someone saw it smoking and called fire department. People had houses burn down when they caught fire in their home garage.

Even with that - it was a fun car to own and drive.

P.S. - with you there tonight with the insomnia.

I'd say it was the coffee. If you continue to have problems you may have to ditch it. Bad news, T! You didn't seem to be having any 'withdrawal' problems when you were off it - not that we heard on here anyway!

Re: Your car, yeah, I see good second hand deals here from time to time, too. I just keep an eye on the noticeboard outside of the supermarket. I pay cash for my cars, too.

A mini? I never saw you in a mini!

Maybe you could say, screw the car, and just use your bike. Air conditioning free!

Yup. The coffee is what I'm thinking.

Never saw me in a MINI? I'm a cosmopolitan Texan. I could get a big old truck!?

I see you in some flash, fast car :)

Like the Saturn.

though you could get something slower and therefore safer. I guess a mini would do that.

Another car I see you in is a silver flying car!

"Check engine light" - worst invention ever.
Maybe one day I'll meet someone who'll tell me, "A check engine light saved my life!," until then, Nuisance.
(Even if the environmental reasoning has its points. Nuisance.)

Mini's seem cool. I've ridden in a few, never driven one. I actually like the one with the double doors in the back. I'm looking forward to reading more about your car search. That's on my radar for 2014.

Definitely. And it's another thing I cannot get to go away. I get that issue addressed. And after a few tanks of gas, it comes back on.

If you can hold on until December you might get a better deal.

And why would that be? I'm curious. Don't think I can wait that long, but...

Dealerships get anxious at the end of the year to clear their stock for tax reasons. When I bought my truck, I tried to make a deal in the summer and no one was interested. I offered the same deal in December and they took it with no dithering.

If you're up for a challenge, Stake house needs an RD.   ;-)</p>

I could see you as a mini guy.  Absolutely. Sending good vibes on the car issue!
