A day or two ago I saw a film with Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher - "A Lot Like Love" - I hate to admit it, but I thought this was pretty good (But then again I thought the movie Caveman** was good as well, so go figure).
There was a time in my life where I would have loved to have a freindship and more like this. But I just don't think things happen like this in real life. It just doesn't. But does that stop us from wishing it did? No, thank you very much. I felt for the guy though. Evey time he got the balls to tell her how he felt, something (or some one) kept getting in the way. The happy and predictable ending, comes of course, after seven years of trails and tribulations! SEVEN YEARS!
That is some kinda love!
**I also saw "Caveman" over the last seven day period. This remains one of my favorite movies. Ringo Starr, Shelley Long, Dennis Quaid, Barbara Bach, and the late, great John Matuzak. It is a spoof of other prehistoric man flicks, made in the early 80's. About a bunch of outcast cavmen and women who learn how (in the process of creating thier own tribe out of outher misfit outcasts) to communcate using thier own form of language, discover fire, invent music (a sometimes painful process!), and stand upright!
Hmmmm. I've gotta get a life. Soon as my schnoz is healed, I'm gonna work on that.
