Smiling

What a Difference a Day Makes!

Went to the ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) Doctor that did my sinus surgery on Monday because my ears were clogged. Or so I thought.

He said I had fluid behind the ear drums and to do that old swimmer or airline trick three times a day until it cleared up. Pinch your nose closed and blow.

NB: That cleared 'em out in a day or day and a half. (!)

We then talked about how I was doing with the CPAP machine. Told him I didn't think it was doing what it was supposed to do because of my allergies. He asked what the allergist had me on.

I am disgusted with the allergist and told him so. The allergist seemed to be more concerned about my asthma symptoms than anything else. And whatever he was doing for that wasn't helping me to sleep either.

While I realize it is important to treat the asthma, I didn't feel he was treating my allergies seriously enough for me to get to sleep well. Because as soon as I lay down my sinuses seemed to clog up. I was also waking up very wheezy. The allergist had given me a combination of meds he thought would work. But it wasn't. And that I HAD TOLD him so on a couple of different occassions.

Explained what meds I was taking and why.

The doctor said that he wanted to set up another sleep study as well as give me a cortizone shot (for immediate releif, and was writing a couple of prescriptions. One for Nasonex. And one for Singulair. And he wanted to see me back in a few weeks.

The PA came in and gave me the shot and I did the paying thing and left. Turned my presciptions in that afternoon and promptly forgot about them.

Remembered last night. made a trip to the pharmacy. Added them to the nightly regimen. Put on the CPAP and promptly fell asleep.

Woke up this morning about a half an hour before the alarm. Bounced out of bed (!) after four hours. Noticed I wasn't wheezing. Annnnnnd I felt effin' great!

Apparently I was not supposed to feel like shit when I wake up in the morning
. So I've been sick and I didn't even know it. I hope it ain't just the cortizone shot.

When I first started with the CPAP I would bounce out of bed. After 4 to 6 hours of sleep. And I felt great! Felt like what most folks felt like after 8 to 10 hours of sleep

Life might be good! We'll see how it goes tonight. I'm a show me kind of a guy! So time will tell.

May not even need that new sleep study...That would be great!
