My New Constant Companion!

My new Constant Companion 2
Excuse the quality of these two pics. Taken with my iPhone camera. 2.1MP...Pshaw!

A Point and Shoot Lumix DMC LZ8 Camera. Still getting to know the little guy. Bought him the night before I went to the Texas Renaissance Festival from our local Micro Center.

My new Constant Companion 1

Leica Optics
8.1 MP
5 X Optical Zoom
4 X Digital Zoom
2.5 in LCD

Still find the lack of a view finder disconcerting, although I guess not every one uses them anymore woth the advent of the LCD screen.

There are a few people using these on flickr.

Specs from Yahoo Shopping: here

And at 2.4 in. x 3.9 in. x 1.3 in.(HxWxD) it fits nicely in a pocket. Which was what I was after in the first place. That and it needs to take good pictures, in spite of any lack of talent I may have!

Here are two samples. One in normal mode and the other in 14:9 (Wide screen or landscape mode). Not too shabby!

Because I said I would...

And I never do these...

Random Shit

Why is it that men's pants hold a crease right out of the dryer and women's do not?

I have always found this to be unfair. Was getting the laundry out of the dryer tonight, and The Queen's pants were a mess!

More Random Shit

One of the mad Photo shop skillz I taught myself today was how to do shiny gold text. Some fonts work better than others. And I can see these need a little work.

Right now, I don't care

Who dies first?

Was at Jason's tonight for the salad bar. I could use the roughage. Stomach has been upset with me for days now. Anyways:

I'm sitting here in a booth. What looks to be some churchgoing folk come in with their five children. Everyone has on their Sunday Best. Dad gets the kids at a table. Mommy is busy ordering and paying.

One of the good things about Jason's is their salad bar.

These little nicely dressed hellions belly up to the salad bar and start taking things. With their HANDS. Repeatedly. WITH THIER HANDS. Eating right there at the goddam bar...With THEIR HANDS.

Dad is obliviously watching something on the tube a way up on the wall. (Too much time in church?) And his kids are treating the salad bar like their own personal eating trough. WITH THEIR HANDS! Mommy comes and sits down. And the feeding frenzy continues. WITH THEIR HANDS!!!

Their goddam grilled cheese finally arrives and they mostly sit down.

So I ask you...WHO DIES FIRST?

I'm voting for the parents because they have taught their children nothing about eating out in public. Probably messed up with a bunch of other stuff too.

Tonight I stopped at the mailbox to pick up our mail from the last week. Keep the key to the box in the glove compartment of the Saturn Express. When I opened the glove box, I discovered my TomTom GPS in there. Talking to itself!

Some folks get married and don't even tell their friends. For three or four days!!

Not bitchin' Just sayin'

And when was that telephone conversation we had? Geee....

Even More...

Got my copy of wired out of the mailbox today. I read the letters (they call the column Rants) because of the snarky letters and even snarkier replies.

One of my favorites from this month:

Insert Remote Where?

Thank you so much for your recent article on how to swap SIM cards in GSM phones (How To, Start, issue 16.10)! Maybe in your next issue you could tackle an even more challenging task, like changing TV channels?
