Dunno Why

I was looking through some of the photos I took at the John Wayne-amo *grins* at the Alamo Village in west Texas and all of a sudden I wanted to hear Herb Alpert’s “The Lonely Bull”

Then there was this...

and then of course

But when I was there I guess these are the kinds of things I had running through my head...

Still sorting through the nearly 600 pictures I took that day. This is taking a bit longer than I thought. Impossible to do it all in one sitting. And I am so easily distracted...

And I did buy the newer version of The Alamo. This was not filmed at the site of the Wayne epic, (it was filmed somewhere around Dripping Springs, Texas, which is also a wonderfully beautiful part of the state) but it is a pretty good flick nonetheless. One of my favorite scenes. Crocket and his fiddle:

That music sets such a beautiful scene - I've always been fond of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Yeah, it seemed appropriate for the space I was in too. Way out west in a pseudo western town...

But yeah I liked Herb too. Recently went hunting for more of his stuff. I was glad I did.

I grew up listening to my parents Herb Alpert records. Brought back memories. I used to sneak peeks at the girl covered in whipped cream on one of their albums.

Yeah. I did too. And I liked it then too. Although I'm hard pressed to remember if THEY liked it? Or I did...It's also why in the last year or two, I've gone back and picked up a bunch of the stuff that I remembered I liked.

I thought it was a pretty fine flick. And that fiddle scene is one of my favorites too.
