If your local library has overdrive ebooks you can check them out using a Nook. You cannot borrow library books on a kindle. If you want to pay for every recent book you want to read, kindle's fine.

I've looked at both. Still buying bound books. I guess I just like turning pages, using things for book marks, and writing in the margins.

I have none of the above so can't give personal opinion although 2 friends have recently bought Kindles and are raving about them

I'm a book gal and can't ever see myself getting a Kindle or any of the other thingies.

Sony e-reader. The PRS350 is amazing. I have the PRS505 and will not part with it until it is dead.
Runs 3 to 4 weeks on a charge and is perfect for inside and out.

I love my sony as well. One of my favorite parts is that it's not connected to wifi--they can't change my books, take my books, etc. It's like I almost own the ebooks!

So true! I also have the kobo ebook reader on my android phone, and with that I regularly encounter the message: we are experiencing a problem with your book.

Uhm? I bought it, the software downloaded it, and after reading half of it there is a problem? I suspect they check for newer versions and download those or so, but...

Never happens on the Sony. That's just there. :-)

I have the Pandigital Novel and am very impressed. Purchases books from B&N and can load any PDF file. E-mail, web-browser...Very cool for the money.

I covet a Kindle. The kids each have one and I'm jealous.

My gripe against the kindle is its closed source format... And I don't understand why an e-reader needs a keyboard.

I read books on my iPod Touch (yep, glutton for punishment). When you are tired of your iPad - toss it my way ;-)

HAHA! As IF! They are for two different purposes...

So not going to be tossing your way anytime soon!
