Slow and Steady Wins the Race

I guess WW works!

I'm 3.4 pounds lighter today than I was at this time last week!

I'm doing WW too! Do you do the full blown plan with the meetings or just the online version?

Right now WW for men - online only.

Renee and I did the meeting plan a couple of years ago. It was the same as the online plan with a weekly meeting and a weigh-in. The meetings were good for support and learning tips. We're doing just the online plan now. We've been on it a month. How are you doing keeping within your points?

Now I've only been at this for two weeks, so I'm still learning my way around this.


I get 54 / day plus the 49 weekly. With the way I (like to) eat (and drink) it can be hard to stay within the points budget. *grins* 1 problem is I frickin' hate light beer. So I won't drink it. I don't really care how many points it doesn't have...

So as an added side effect, I drink less. I knew I was quaffing too much brew, so I guess I'm okay with that. So instead of the 22 oz Tankers my favorite dive bar serves I drink a 12 oz "pint" or two. I drink less of them too.

I went to a couple of WW meetings last year, but they felt too much like the 12 step meetings the state forced me to go to for a couple of years (DWI). I know they're not, but...

I'm 51 / 49 and I couldn't agree with you more. I've adopted the quality before quantity mentality. My big problem was portion size. I still try to eat what I liked before but in a more reasonable quantity. And I've also found that if what I eat is of a higher quality, I will be satisfied with the smaller quantity. But it is hard to resist that tall Blue Moon. I try to rationalize by pointing out that it comes with a slice of orange but that only goes so far.

I would agree about the meetings. That's why we're doing just the online plan this time.

I have heard nothing but good things about Weight Watchers. If you need to change your diet (and I do), it appears to be the way to go. :)
