So my small charges are becoming more acclimated to me. Not even going crazy as I pull into the driveway and walk to the front door.
They do wait until I get the door and the gate down, then act a fool.
At this point I've got one off their feed, the other two will eat whatever is in front of them. Including each other's food.
These dogs live better than I do. One gets a phenobarbital daily to suppress epilepsy.
And they're spoiled. Good kids though.
Sparky is a mutant jack russell. The other 2 are little black skipper keys.
So today, the 26th, I dragged my ass outta bed at around nine to go take care of my little friends, checked my phone, had a missed call and a voicemail from their parents. Yes! Said they were home. If I hadn't been so flippin' tired I might have danced a little jig. Instead I went back to bed and apparently fell immediately asleep. I slept until noon. Got a cup of coffee and called them back.
Said they wanted me to come over for dinner. After I ascertained they were not brain dead, I agreed.
Did a thing or two around my place. Dishes, straightened up a bit and headed over to their place.
Rich dropped a C note on me as soon as I sat down surrounded by my little friends. Tried to decline. But R and M were having none of it.
We had a nice dinner of pulled pork sammiches, corn on the cob, and cole slaw.
R and I got to talking about photography, and I told him I was starting to get inspired again, but I was thinking I needed to buy some new glass. Maybe a nice 35mm prime lens or at least a 300mm telephoto lens. We kept talking and then he disappeared into the back of the house. About 10 minutes later he came out and dropped an older 300mm lens on me.
Fucker is a heavy thing too. Metal body. It's old enough I'll have to shoot on manual. Which should (will) make me learn more about shooting. R did that on purpose. Wants me to shoot AND learn. Ha! Good job, dude! Gave me some pointers too.
I see some sunrises and sunsets coming. I really want to see what this hunk of glass and metal can do.
