You Have Got to be Joking.

Hit up one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast shortly after noon today. Nice omelet, potatoes, bacon, and some wheat toast. Reading through a Wired mag while I was there. The gal dropped my check, and moved on.

Much to my dismay, I discovered my iPod touch in my pocket where my wallet should have been. WTF?! Still trying to figure that one out.

Had no cards AND no cash. Luckily the owner was there, so I had a quick word with him. They put my ticket on the bulletin board behind the cash register and I promised to pay the next time I was in. And I will of course.

Smooooooooooooooooooth, T. Well done.

At least they didn't make you wash any dishes. He!

Oh the owner joked about it, but let me slide...

I think I did that once years ago, back when cellphones first got small. It's easy to have happen.

Since then I've forgotten to take my cell, but never my wallet.

Left my phone at home the other night. Noticed when I got into the car I didn't have it. Went on any way. Felt disconnected all night. Liberating.

heh heh
I was in a cash only parking lot today. It was long wait at the cashier booth because apparently the car ahead of me had no cash -- or not enough (those hours add up fast!). About five cars waited while the booth attendant wrote out a slip, the driver signed it, or did whatever and then returned it. It seemed like eternity. Anyway, last week I got stuck paying $14 because of a discount snafu. Now I know I should have just said I didn't have any cash!
Anyway, here's to indie businesses!
I had a similar thing happen at my local pizzeria. I called in an order and walked out without the wallet. Owner laughed, said No problem, pay me later.
That stuff does build or fortify a good connection.

Yep. I think so too. Doesn't hurt I've been going to that place for like 25 plus years.

Well that was nice of the owner to let you do that, I don't think many places here would do that!
