Thinking Can be a Dangerous Activity Sometimes

Finished 4 loads of laundry last night (and a bit of scotch!) rather than going out. Pretty happy with that decision really. Was late when I was finally able to get to sleep. I think it was after 0200 or maybe even 0300. Thought maybe the time change was screwing with me. But I’m thinking I am consuming caffeine late in the afternoon. Or had been the last few days. We’ll see.

Got a nice size pot of shrimp gumbo and rice simmering on the stove. Oh man does it smell good! Making me hungry. Poor planning though. No crusty bread or even saltines to go with it. Poor planning indeed, TexasT’s. If I wasn’t so hungry and didn’t need a shower (!) I’d rectify that. But I’ve got some honey wheat bread and butter I can have with it.

Made a point to read the paper on the patio the last couple of days. Weather has been marvelous. I do suspect that our winter is c’est fini here in Houston. Pretty much anyway.

People have been down at and in the pool. Little too cool for me yet. The water I mean. Watched a preteen try really hard not to fidget when she was down there with her mom or sister. Or aunt. Or whatever. Hard to tell from up here. (I still need an eye exam!) She held off as best she could. Poor girl was bored just laying out by the pool! She was quite squirmy…

Was going to go out for a bit this afternoon or tonight, but the paper has reminded me it’s St. Patrick’s Day. Or weekend. Or whatever. Amateur night! I believe I’ll pass. Too easy to get nailed by the law on nights like tonight will be.

There’s probably more to say, but there’s a pot of gumbo in the kitchen that’s calling my name... And it is not being very subtle about it! Time to strap on a feed bag!
