Kiss Me, You Fool!

Today was the first time in a long time a pepper has managed to numb my lips. That little mother was Hot, Hot, HOT!

Crunchy fresh and practically raw, it was hot, even for a jalapeño. Jeebus! I was on fire!

The thought had crossed my mind that it might have enough Scoville **scortchability units to actually cause a sort of burn. Thankfully that was not the case.

Lordy, those were some good chicken enchiladas. *laughs*

One of the only times I can remember leaving sliced jalapeño peppers sitting on my plate though. “That’s enough of that one!”

Last night out was fun although I stayed out too late and really had too much fun. Talked to a couple friends that I hadn’t spoken to in a few months.

Interesting development. I seem to be painting myself into a ‘no more beer corner’ just about like I quit cigarettes. Although not life threatening, I just don’t enjoy barley and hops concoction as much as I used to. I certainly don't care for the way it has been making me feel the next day.

**It’s a word and you don’t even need to look up the definition! You instantly know what it means. *grins* Even though I just made it up.

I really do need to mail you some of this chili mac. You know it's only gonna get hotter as it sits :)

Heh. Well it probably will not get any tamer. I need a jalapeño icon...

When we got married, we decided to make some "armadillo eggs" (stuffed pork meatballs with Jalapenos & cream cheese). I roasted the Jalapenos and honest to God, I thought I would die from the fumes. Never, ever have I had them THAT hot. I started coughing and was bent over running out the door wheezing. Gary, of course, thought I was being overly dramatic until HE got caught up in the fumes.

Most of the time I love Jalapenos and can eat bits raw. Not those. Those were from the debbil himself.

Me too. They rarely give me problems. But these? holy moly. My lips went numb and my eyes started to water.

Once my daughter ate a chili (which she had been warned NOT to! It was on the way to the park where they used to play) and she came up in blisters. I knew about milk. That didn't work. Luckily I then hit upon the idea of iceblocks!

Milk can do the job usually. I just powered on through.
