Thoughts & Shit

There’s Riding. And Then There’s Riding.

Went for a nice ride on the bike yesterday. About 15 miles. I say ‘about’ because tom forgot to turn the damned tracker on. By close reckoning (I hope) I was about a mile into it from La Casita. *grins* I was all over West U and Southside Place.

Once I got back, and I was a tired T’s, the battery died on the 3d floor in the parking garage. That was a long pull up the rest of the way. Did I mention I was tired? I was out for a couple hours I think. Little sore this morning. Not completely unexpected as I was stiff when I went to bed.

Not too bad on the mileage, considering I am over the weight limit on the bike. And the extra craaaaaap I had brought along. (That I never even used. I don’t think I got off the bike at all) My U-lock and cable are heavy enough! The saddlebags performed well. The fastening (to the bike) system could use some improvement, but it does it’s job. And they look really RED doing it!

I just wanted to see what I could get out of the battery. A couple more trips like that and I should have a good baseline of data I should be able to trust. IF I remember to turn the dang GPS on.

Excuse Me Whilst I Plug In My Hat...

I’ve got a couple of sets of Bone Conduction headphones that I’ve been wanting to try out. The first is a set of Cynaps by MaxVirtual. This is a project I backed on Indiegogo.com. This is a bluetooth bone conduction headset, built into a ball cap. I got the basic model because I’m a cheap bastard. Supposed to have a mike built in to, but I’ve only used the thing with an iPod sooooooo. I don’t really have a feel for how good or bad it is. When I first rec’d them I couldn’t make the cap fit. My hair was longer and thicker. Since I got my summer shearing, I’ve been able to wear and use them. Go figure. I’ve got thick hair as well as a thick head. *grins*

I was a bit skeptical but they work. Not as well as I would like, but tech has only gotten so far. In the hat bill, you got controls for volume, on/off, next/prev song. They tend to fade a little in higher winds. but you can definitely hear your program or music. Good midrange, highs are okay, but lows, well lows are just not strong at all. If you are a bass head, you will probably not like them for that. I like a good strong bass line myself.

But using this I can ride, listen to music and be aware of my surroundings. Which is what I was looking for. All in all, yes I’ll use them. And have been.

This Sucks

Or I hope it does. Got some of these space type bags. I want to give myself more closet space. If these work, Woo Hoo! If not…

Starting in the bathroom closet. It is the smallest room in La Casita. Aside from the pigeon hole of a pantry in the kitchen. Due to the fact there is no medicine chest in the bathroom, most drugs, etc are kept in that closet. Along with towels and tablecloths and crap. After I finish that little project, I’ll be interested to see if I can cram a queen size quilt into one of the extra large bags.

Some one let their freakin’ dog pee in the elevator. At least I hope it was a dog. Sheesh. It Stinks!

Dieting? Why Yes, I’ll Have One, Thank You. Could I Get That to Go?

I seem to be having trouble keeping my shorts from falling off my ass waist. Wearing a belt is a pain. *laughs* But whatcha gonna do. I think I might be able to see an actual difference in the mirror. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a big *Big* guy. Whatever the Hell it is I’m doing seems to be working again this week.

Cannot say I am displeased by this. Skipped my night out again though. B-O-R-I-N-G.

we used to take in a tuck or move buttons over- or both
many areas have shockingly cheap tailoring.

Yep. Trudat! But a 10 year old pair of shorts? Probably made in some sweatshop in SE Asia. Not going to get tailoring. But I can move a button if necessary.

That is still so awesome about the weight loss, and loose clothes will make you feel good. The ball cap headphones sound interesting! :)

15 miles? That is an unbelievable distance for me! No wonder you are an tired Ts! And the battery dying before you got it up all the stairs. Doh! Glad your paniers worked well, and woot for your hat!

Dog pee? Yuck!

And yay on losing weight!

Now let's remember this is an eBike, so I can get a good distance out and back because of that.

But ya know, 2 months ago I wasn't riding or doing anything physical at all. Anything is an improvement from there.
