Poop!

Woke up with a stiff back and neck this morning. So I was *am* cranky. This usually happens when I don't move much when I'm sleeping.

Made a stop by the liquor store yesterday, probably shouldn' thave, but what's done is indeed, done.

Waiting on Duval County Schools (out of Florida) to send me copies of my HS transcripts for the Onboarding process for my prospective employer. They are holding me up. Called them this morning. Woman said, "We have 15 Working Days, When did you submit?"

April 1st.

"Well, I haven't gotten to THAT day yet"

Go to the Web site and apparently she picked it up because it is now assigned to a processor. Whatever. That shit did not help my overall mood, but it is, what it is.

I checked into getting a copy of my diploma. That mess is expensive and it looks as though one company has a stranglehold on the business.

Holy crap! I spent so many years barely hanging on with barely a place to live. I don't have copies of lots of stuff.
I can't imagine an employer asking me for my HS diploma.

Well they said barring the diploma, they would take transcripts. Thought it was unusual too. But I can deal. Much cheaper than the diploma. And I'll have a copy, too.As long as they can step it up. Like to have this all wrapped up with a bow on it sooner rather than later.

*Blink*

You're HOW old and you worked for The Big Clam for HOW many years and NOW someone wants your high school transcripts?

Honey, I'm old enough to remember when the damned Clam didn't even have a drug testing policy. I'd never been drug screened for employment. Until NOW.

I graduated from HS in 1976. Seems like a long time when you look at it from this side.

Then I'm two years older than you. When I went to junior college, they asked for my high school transcripts; when I transferred to a state college, they wanted my junior college transcripts.

No one EVER asked for my high school transcripts.

What if they find out you skipped second and third period classes twice in 1974?

That is as far as I went in school.

I suspect they gotta have a piece of paper that the contractor that does the BG checks can mark as signed off on. I'm just trying to get a damned job. I can try to fix the process once I'm on staff. *grins*

It's ComCast for crissakes. They own NBC Universal. Whoa.

Fifteen days? Whoa. No wonder you're cranky. I have some of my high school bits of paper, but not all. My last year of school was 1971 and my second daughter was born in 1976!

Hopefully you back and neck will get less sore as the day goes on, and after a god night's sleep tonight, the soreness will pass.

Sheesh! Your work history should be enough.

Heh. Yeah you would think so.

But I guess not for a corporation with a global brand... I'm sure The Big Clam is doing something similar these days. Most seem to be.

Ain't even started and this freakin' job has cost me money already.
