It appears I may have forgotten, through lack of use, my oh so handy at one time, html skills. Gad! I am hard pressed to even post a link in a reply. The Shame of it all.

Or maybe LJ has done some wonky shit on the site since I've last tried. Probably closer to the truth, eh?

Heh heh. Off to study some... Old posts.

As an uninformed guess i would say it has more to do with LJ than your HTML skills.

I lost my coding, which I had in a note on my desktop, so I had to look it up again. (Googled it.)

I'm sure I'll pick it up in time. I've got snippets of it in the machines here somewhere.

Another thing Facebook is good for is the degradation of coding skills... Especially when like mine, they're frickin' meager to start with. I'm not worried... Much

And of course there's googling.

Googling worked for me! It took mew to an lj site :)

I think the post entry page has buttons for you to insert links and photos and the like without needing the html code?

Yes ma'am, it does. But I kind of like to do the coding myself so I can keep those skills (if they can be called such a thing these days) current.

So I can bold text, or use italics in a reply for instance...

And I also used to compose my posts in an offline client or journal (like MacJournal) that posts to LJ or Facebook or blogger for me, so that wouldn't be available. Write once, post every where or any where. HTML here, there, and everywhere!

I still use html for my links and photos and such too. It was using this site that I learnt it for! haha

Exactly! I started with blogger I think. Coded my own pages and such. It was FUN! Once I got away from lj for a while (Like a few years) the skill set suffered for it. I'm trying to come back and so I want my dang skill set back too.

Plus, There really is no place like LiveJournal. It's a one and only.
