A Quote and Other Stuff

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
~Mark Twain, 'The Innocents Abroad'

One of my favorite quotes by the man. And I can highly recommend travel. Time to reach for this book again I think. This came up as a mem referencing another well traveled friend.

I can feel it... Wanderlust is reaching it's hand out for me. Cannot do anything about it now, but later. Hmmmm...
Currently reading "Pirate Utopia" By Bruce Sterling, and for all he is one of my favorite authors (and a Texan to boot) this one just is NOT grabbing me. Dunno - Maybe he has just turned into too much of the globalist-futurist guru to me... I'll likely lay this one down for a bit to pick up later.
