New Year Post

Happy New Year. Really pretty glad to see 2016 off and to greet the new year.

Got to be a better year than last year. I've got issues to be sure, but hopefully I'll see the end of a couple of them, and will then be able to work on some others.

How was my NYE? A lot quieter than some I've had in the past. Not a big deal. Not really.

I spent the day sober. Which if you knew the **old me**, you might find this a bit disconcerting. I liked (or like) my *beer and my scotch*. And I wasn't averse to a *wee dram of Irish Cream* in my coffee in the morning occasionally. Not to mention I'm an old pot head too.

Of late, for various reasons I'm off all of it. Hang around long enough and I'll talk about it. I tend to talk about everything. And I used to do it here, as some of my older friends can certainly testify to.

But I digress...

So NYE I spent at home this year. Sober as a judge.
Probably more sober than a lot of judges. *laughs*

Spent a good part of the day refamiliarizing myself with the video game '*Star Craft 2*' as I seem to be a bit bored with '*Diablo 3*' at the moment. I alternated that with unpacking several boxes of books to go on shelves here at my lodgings. Throw in a couple half pots of coffee and you will have my day. Room mate made a couple of tasty dishes during the day so I did the dishes after she cooked. I ate too much of course.

Retired to my rooms at about Eleven of the clock as the roomie wanted to lay down with the dog on the sofa in the living room (she does this every night between 1000 and 1100 p.m.). She had a schedule and sticks to it even when not working. Her cats and the dog see to it that she's up by 0600 every morning.

Any way off to my room I went, I was watching some really rancid British B or C or more likely a S movie. It was pretty awful. But with all the coffee I had consumed during the day, I wasn't sleepy. And I could hear fireworks and yes, miscellaneous small arms fire. Damned people and thier fucking guns. Heard at some point today some politician was in the hospital after being struck by a bullet returning to earth. Doesn't surprise me. Where do they think those things are going to end up when fired up into the air? Idiots.

Around midnight one of my former co workers at Comcast sent out a happy New year text to me and a few other people. I responded somewhat enthusiastically. About 45 minutes to an hour later I got a text from the unknown person asking who I was?

I responded in kind, "Good question. Well who is this?" She never did identify herself as we conversed back and forth over about the next hour and a half. Honestly, she was a bit rude and I was somewhat uncomfortable, so after a while, I stopped responding. And she stopped sending. Thought that was the end of it. But wait! There's more!

I went to bed around three a.m. Took me a bit of time to get to sleep. I slept until I was awakened by a damned text from this person, followed by a fucking phone call in which she left a long rambling voicemail asking me to remove her from what ever loop she was involved WITH as it was making it difficult for her to get ready for church. At shortly after 0700. FFS!! I sent her a text informing her I hadn't sent anything since about 0130. And thanks for walking me up, dammit!

I then sent a text to the originator explaining that this so and so was trying to get out of whatever conversation you guys were having, without me, apparently, thankyouverymuch! Further explained that I didn't know this person and didn't appreciate being awakened by them for something I had nothing to do with. SO HANDLE IT, PLEASE. And then for good measure I blocked the unknown persons number.

Of course by this time I was fully awake and in a somewhat foul humor, so I got up and started the coffee.

Coffee makes everything better...

The rest of the day went by unremarkably. Except for the Black Eyed Peas we had for dinner.

Off to bed early tonight as I didn't get enough shut eye last night.
