Hey Kids!

Hey - Want a cool plastic oxygen filled moustache?

There's still time! Go ahead - keep smoking tobacco!!

What happened to me this last week? I ended up in the hospital with a COPD Complication. By the time they released me yesterday, I was sporting one of these beauties.

Not sure just how permanent this is going to be. But I sure am styling, hmmmm?

Went in on Monday afternoon. They kept me until yesterday, Saturday afternoon. First time I had a real issue. One that made me think, am I done here? Scary.

I've wondered today if they kept me long enough. Heh.

And about 40 years. Started around 14. Quit around five-ish years ago. For the last time.

I don't remember you smoking since I've known you..... that's about 9 years. (unless you were hiding it)

You remember differently than I do. I definitely remember smoking out and about at your place. Just not as much maybe because it was cold or hot, etc.

Hmmmm.... now that I think on it - yes, you did. You weren't obsessive about it though. Well, good that you quit - expensive habit (I should know - I smoked 1+ packs a day for years).

I was thinking - you have limitations at the moment. One thing you could look into that might be a positive influence mentally and doesn't take physical exertion would be meditation. I know you aren't the cerebral type necessarily, but the possible benefits (and I think there could be many) make it worth trying out.

p.s. - do you have an e-reader?

Pss. Yes I do.

And I'm open to nearly anything.

You're finally out of hospital. Yay!

I wondered if you might have to have an oxygen tank at home. My youngest son's grandfather had one which he had to use for a certain number of hours a day. It wasn't a big deal.

It is kind of a big deal.

Tethering was never a good look for me.

Oh, bummer.

I hope you can get rid of it soon, then!
Apr. 18th, 2017 02:19 pm (UTC)
Not counting on that.

It would be a bummer to have to stay on it all the time!

Although the alternative is worse ~

Oh, crud. That's not a lot of fun at all. I hope you'll be able to ditch this soon.

Helps me get ALL of the ladies...

Making it work, in adverse circumstances! :-)

Whoops. Any way, helps keep me vertical.

One if the things that annoys ME about LJ these days is it keeps logging me OUT!
Apr. 17th, 2017 03:15 pm (UTC)
It's doing that all the time to me, as well... Irritating!

James's granddad has one but is a stubborn bugger and doesn't wear it as much as he should.
Fingers crossed it won't be a permanent thing for you

It's never too late. Don't give up. Make it a mission to get to the best health possible for you. Your longevity and quality of life will benefit :-)

As much as I would like to be positive about all this. I'm just not seeing it.

Everything is a struggle. Just gathering a breath is a damned struggle. Much less anything else.

For instance, showers (FFS!) which I used to derive so much pleasure from are now just another fucking task to be endured. Throw a little (or a lot!)anxiety in there and you just have no IDEA how much fun this all is!

I'm sure I'm just having a bad day or week, but Jeebus.

It just seems like everything is a fucking test.
